Down Messages
Unless it is an emergency, any time a lifeguard gets down from their stand they should tell their neighboring guards what they are doing. The general format for these messages is: Down for [whatever you are getting down for]. A few examples would be "Down for dog" or "Down for beer". A few common reasons to get down are to enforce an ordinance, adjust something about the setup of your stand, or to cool off in the ocean. The procedure for getting down from your stand and getting back up goes as follows: First you send "Down for _____" to both your North and South guard. They will respond with either "OK" or "No" or "Wait". If both respond "ok", you can get down. They will stand and watch your water while you are down doing whatever you need to do. Once you return and are back in the stand, send "Thanks" both North and South. They will respond with "Yup" and sit down. You will regain responsibility for your water.
